DVR dCoder gives me an error – “Handle is invalid”

Listed below is the fix If you are getting the following error when using DVR dCoder: “Error: Handle is Invalid”

  1. Change the location of the temp directory where dCoder is digitizing video. This setting can be found by clicking the “Edit” button and selecting “Preferences.” You will see an option for where dCoder will save the Raw file – this is the Temp directory. Click the “…” button and select a new location.
  2. You can also open the registry editor (Start>Run>type the word “regedit”), and browse to this directory: HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Ocean Systems\DVR dCoder\ tempfile – delete the “tempfile” entry and restart dCoder.
  3. Check the version of DVR dCoder – the latest version is 2.5.4.
