Description
An Introduction to Forensic Video Analysis w/Ocean Systems is an introductory level course on leveraging Ocean Systems’ solutions for Forensic Video Analysis.
The first 3 days of this course is our Fundamentals of Video Evidence for Investigations (FVEI) course, the last two days provide an introduction to Avid Media Composer & the dTective® Suite.
Products Used Include: Omnivore/ClearID/dTective & Avid Media Composer/QuickDME/Various Freeware tools
Who Should Attend?
Anyone who recovers, handles, processes or disseminates Digital & Multimedia Evidence (DME), including administrative staff, patrol officers, detectives, investigators, as well as both new and experienced DME Technicians/Analysts.
Topics will include:
Forensic Video Analysis (FVA) overview & resources, workflow concepts, digital/analog video recovery & processing, image clarification, basic NLE video editing and annotation, final output options, and media management & archiving.
The learning environment consists of lectures and hands-on exercises designed to allow the student to become familiar with video analysis and clarification while working with real cases.
Prerequisites
Students are expected to have an average skill level with computers such as: creating folders, saving files, navigating through the Windows environment, basic troubleshooting skills, installing software, etc. Basic computer skills are not taught in the Introduction to Forensic Video Analysis course.
Certificate
A certificate will be given to participants who complete this training and demonstrate a working knowledge of these techniques. Certificates are handed out on the end of the last day 4PM.
